I strive for simplicity and elegance in my work. Simple quality design. That, to me, means the following: Intuitive, elegant, navigation and layout. Clean lines. A dash of humor where appropriate. Otherwise focus attention on the product, person, or whatever the job is about.
I also believe in enabling the web site owner with the ability to update their site without any special software or training. The web has finally grown up - let's take part! My preference would be with the contect management system Drupal, and sometimes WordPress.
On a web project I work to keep the code clean (and validated to so-called "Web Standards"). This provides my clients with less expensive sites which are easier to update; can be accessed by everybody, have better search-engine visiblity; and download faster. All good.
